Amuru Hao Agro-Pastoralist Association
Based in Burat Ward, Isiolo County, Amuru Hao is a dedicated agro-pastoralist association with a rich history in crop and livestock production as primary sources of livelihood and income. Over the years, the association has received support from the county government and development partners to enhance their production systems. However, increasing climate variability posed significant challenges to their efforts.
In response, Mercy Corps-RANGE introduced the Resilience Design (RD) approach, focusing on regenerative agriculture to build a strong ecological foundation for sustainable food production and income generation. The farm now serves as a demonstration hub for three core RD principles: water resource management, building healthy soils, and promoting biodiversity. These practices are transforming the association’s production system into a model of resilience and sustainability
