The objective is to transition the olive orchard through a polyculture approach by integrating complementary crops and beneficial plant species. This will promote natural pest control, increase pollinator activity, improve nutrient cycling, and enhance overall ecosystem resilience, leading to higher agricultural productivity and ecological sustainability.
My dream for the future of this land and our region is to see our olive orchard thrive as a vibrant, living example of Mediterranean agroecology. I envision a landscape where diverse crops and wild species coexist in harmony, making the land more resilient to climate challenges and providing abundant, healthy food. I hope our project can inspire and empower other local growers to adopt regenerative practices—creating a mosaic of sustainable, productive, and biodiverse ecosystem across our community. Ultimately, I want our land to become a learning hub, where knowledge, seeds, and hope for a better food system are shared among neighbors and with future generations.
