Ananda Suruci Farm

Ananda Suruci has a large organic farm with over 40 varieties of fruit trees and vegetables.It supplies the residents and volunteers with healthy, organic vegetables and provides an example to visitors about farming methods that are better for ourselves and the planet. We also process our fam produce and produce a variety of jams, pickles, coconut chips, turmeric powder etc. We sell these products and our surplus fruit and vegetable to our retreat attendees and visitors.

In 2010 we dug two new ponds and planted over 400 fruit and nut trees. Since then we have planted a further 200 fruit trees. Our most productive trees in the orchard include coconuts, bananas, pineapples, star fruit and mulberries. We are striving to implement both Permaculture and P.R. Sarkar’s Ideal Farming methods of organic farming.

Surrounded by tropical fruit farms, Ánanda Suruci ‘Master Unit‘ is located near Yujing township in rural Tainan county, Southern Taiwan.

Master Units are like eco-villages, founded by members of the worldwide socio-spiritual organisation Ánanda Márga (Path of Bliss), to serve as a model of sustainable development and service minded spirituality. Master Units are striving to be applied demonstrations of PROUT and Neo-humanism principles also propounded by Shrii P. R. Sarkar.

Ánanda Suruci was set up to create a peaceful environment where everyone can enjoy the practice of yoga and meditation. In addition to yoga and meditation, we are engaged in organic farming and ecological water management.

Ánanda Suruci covers 12 acres of land and includes a large yoga-meditation center, Yoga Wellness Center, Rector’s office, staff & volunteer accommodation, carpentry workshop, organic vegetable farm, organic orchard with over 40 varieties of fruit trees, rain water collection system, grey water filtration system, 6 ponds and beautiful gardens.
