Grupo Da Mata

Founded in Cohab 2, Itaquera, this collective of ecology and cultural articulation has been actively promoting meaningful activities since 2018, though its seed was planted a year earlier at the Núcleo Sociocultural Humaitá. Its initial efforts emerged from a deep recognition of the need to care for and reforest the green spaces within the Cohab 2 territory. From these beginnings grew initiatives such as the beloved Arraiá Maluco festival, the Horta Comunitária Da Mata, and collaborations with the Cordão Folclórico de Itaquera, among other impactful projects.

The collective views quality of life, healthy eating, and cultural experiences as essential pillars for building a stronger, more united community. Guided by these values, it invests in artistic expressions, socio-environmental education, and community-based tourism as pathways for exchanging ideas, connecting people, and generating income. Through these efforts, the collective not only revitalizes urban spaces but also fosters a sense of belonging and shared responsibility, creating a vibrant network of cultural and ecological transformation.
