Breve descrição do seu lugar e práticas

The Centro Educativo Familiar de Formação por Alternância (CEFFA) CEA Rei Alberto I, located in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro, uses the Pedagogy of Alternation as its educational strategy, combining theory and practice to meet the needs of rural families. This approach encourages the integration of traditional and scientific knowledge, providing students with hands-on learning experiences in various areas of agroecology.

Among its key agroecological practices, the center features a Agroecological Labyrinth, a demonstration unit where students can explore different agroecological management techniques. This interactive space promotes experiential learning, allowing students to deepen their understanding of sustainable farming practices. Additionally, the Sensory Garden, created by second-year Agricultural Technical students in 2022, includes aromatic, medicinal, and non-conventional food plants. It serves as an educational tool that engages students' senses while highlighting the importance of plant diversity and sustainability.

Another notable initiative at CEFFA CEA Rei Alberto I is the Agroecological Mandala, a project that integrates Biology, Sociology, and Agroecology. This interdisciplinary space offers students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical, circular cultivation area, promoting sustainability and biodiversity. These projects reflect the center’s commitment to rural education and sustainable agricultural practices in line with agroecological principles.
